  • Aviation Certification & Technical Service
    Principal Consultant - 1978 to Present
    Management & engineering consultant for over 33 years, working with, or for, many of commercial aviation’s best known companies & others. General experience in commercial aviation with a specialization in propulsion, engines & equipment.

    FAA/EASA applications submitted for approval or acceptance for STC, PMA, repair and/or alteration of systems, equipment & installations on behalf of clients.

    Consultant to organizations seeking certification to AS9000 & ISO9000.

    Salvaged National Airlines 727-200 from Escambia Bay, Florida, the largest aircraft salvaged from deep water at the time. Directed disassembly & preservation at the Pensacola Naval Air Station, the first Commercial project there. Directed air frame rebuilding & repair project at Van Nuys.

    Led project to convert 727-100 aircraft to the 727-200 by retro-stretching the fuselage, adding barrel sections ahead of & behind the wings.
    Directed effort to improve acoustic performance of re-engined Convair 880 Freighter converted aircraft.

    Modification of new propjet for application as a US Air Force single engine basic flight trainer.

    Engineering for modification of civilian & military aircraft to add fuel tanks, reengine, install APU, cabin heater, extend wingspan & re-route engine exhaust, for FAA certification.

  • Overseas National Airways
    Director of Engineering -1973 to 1978
    Technical direction for operation & maintenance of DC-I0, DC-9, DC-8 & L-188 aircraft fleets. Contracted with major 0 & R & support firms worldwide.

    Led purchasing effort for most aspects of airplanes, spares & support equipment. Troubleshooting of engineering & operational problems. Established aircraft engine overhaul facility at main base.

  • Pacific Airmotive Corp.
    Project Manager & Engineer - 1969 to 1973
    Directed maintenance & engineering for Flying Tiger Line, Wardair Canada & Overseas National Airways DC-8 & DC-9 fleets. Instrumental in obtaining FAA & DOT (Canada) approvals for totally on-condition/condition-monitored maintenance programs operated with hard time limitations removed. Consulting, problem solving & troubleshooting for company & clients. Program Manager for Industrial Turbine & Marine Power based on aircraft jet engines.

  • The Boeing Company
    Research Engineer - 1964 to 1969
    Support for 727-200 & 747 aircraft certification programs. Contributed to design of advanced wide body trijet transport aircraft & 200 configurations of the advanced model 737, including the 'tail-sting' version. Design & development of gas turbine engines. Maintenance & repair of Air Force One fleet. Manufacturing support for manufacture of airframe actuators & gearboxes.
